Dave McGinley received his Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Industrial Management at Villanova University in 1971. Before becoming president of Research America, Inc. in 1996, Dave held a variety of positions that perfected his market research skills.
Dave spent the first seven years of his post-collegiate life sharpening his business and market research skills while employed by such companies as Chilton Research Services, Intersearch Corporation, and Valley Forge Information Services. Accountable for all phases of research, corresponding with clients, and managing over $2 million in sales per year, he earned the admiration and respect of his peers and co-workers.
In early 1977, Dave decided to start his own operation and founded McGinley Marketing Research Company. He was responsible for all departments of the company, including accounting, sales, project staff, coding, and tabulation. He produced yearly sales exceeding $3 million in quantitative and qualitative full-line research.
In 1985, Dave accepted a position as Senior Vice President of Intersearch Corporation. He worked with clients such as AT&T, Arbitron, Fidelity Bank, and First Pennsylvania Bank, bringing in sales of $4 million annually, vastly exceeding his previous highs. Dave was responsible for the overall management of five account executives in the areas of client communication, pricing, and survey layout, and 10 project directors who were responsible for the execution of research projects.
After seven years, Dave accepted a position as President of Research Corporation of America, one of the largest independently owned telephone research facilities in the United States. Dave oversaw a staff of 12 full-time and over 250 part-time employees, and assisted such clients as Northern Telecom, ADP Services, Pitney Bowes, Curtis Products, and PECO Energy.
In September 1996, Research America, Inc. began operation, and Dave became President. He accumulated such clients as Fairbanks Maslin Maullin, Pitney Bowes, Opinion Dynamics, and Chadwick Martin Bailey. His staff includes nine full-time and over 300 part-time employees. Due mainly to Dave’s leadership and skills, over the course of the past half-decade, Research America, Inc. has opened four subsidiaries and will continue to provide high quality research to any interested party.
